  
 These home art items are made by women for the Friendship and Peace Society, a Fair Trade organization. The Friendship and Peace Society began an embroidery project in 1996 to help poor village women feed and educate their children. We hope therefore that you will look at the beautiful work done by poor village women who are the sole support of their families and we also hope that you will help them care for their children.
These delightful hand embroidered home art items from the Hebron area of Palestine are made of traditional Palestinian embroidery motifs combined in new and unusual ways. Each one-of-a-kind item is embroidered with the traditional Palestinian cross stitch on cotton with DMC embroidery thread on one side only. Each is hand washable and will give years of pleasure to its owner. It was made by an impoverished village woman who employs her traditional skill of embroidery to earn money to feed and educate her children.
