  
Patuli Self-help group operates from Patuli village (Hanskhali block) of Nadia district. This village has a population of 2000 and they mainly earn their livelihood by "BANDHNI PRINTING" on bed-sheet, bed-cover , scarf , table cloth, etc. CMF has made a detailed survey on socio-economic condition of such deprived class and then formed an organised self-help group.This self-help group consisting of 32 women.It is basically labour intensive work and is still being continued under different shed.
Although agriculture is the main occupation here for male earner but so much people dependent on land which result in very low marginal output and thatswhy female members are gradually coming forward to share responsibility and thus they adopted 'Badhni Printing' and making their village recognisable through this hand work. Since they suffer due to inadequacy of raw materials and marketing orientation, CMF is very much sincere on this point and has extended all possible raw materials and marketing support in addition to design development oriented training program. Prior to CMF intervention, women members earnings were only Rs 10/- to 15/- daily but after receiving CMF assistance the earning has been raised to Rs.25/-. Besides, CMF has paved them way towards receiving financial assistance from government and non government agencies.
